I like to deceive people. But don’t think badly of me. I’m not talking about deception in the serious way, like crying game style but in the I like to cook things that look impressive and difficult but are really dead easy kinda way. Panna cotta is one of those desserts. I love it, you can infuse it with a million different flavours and best of all you can make it ahead of time, pop it in the fridge and bibbidi bobbed boo you have a super impressive dessert that will wow the pants off your guests.
Hands up for those of you on a low-carb diet? I know there’s a stack of you out there; Atkins, Dukan, anyone? Well…strictly speaking this recipe is not diet food and probably wouldn’t be given the tick of approval by Dr Dukan but maybe Mr Atkins would be ok with a few of these baby quiches. It does include cream but when everything else at a party is carb-laden (which obviously makes for killer drinking food) it’s nice to have something that isn’t wrapped in some form of pastry.
This, I think, is one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. I’m sorry, but today I’m patting myself on the back for making one of the best ice-cream flavours ever. When I first tested out this recipe I think my eyes literally rolled back into my head when I had the first spoonful – it is totally off-the-hook bonkers delicious. Yes I know, I’m tooting my own horn but whatever, I’m totally giving myself a poppin’ today. Enough said….
