You know what? I don’t think I have ever frittered before.

Hell yeah for haloumi, watermelon and prawn salad
Ok so I’m going to kick on with the healthy summer salads theme I got going on here and give you a recipe for THE most delicious of delicious salads. Seriously, this salad has got it going on all up and down, left to right.
Chickpeas and spinach with spices, sherry vinegar and a soft boiled egg
I feel like in the relatively short time that I’ve been blogging, I’ve posted quite a few recipes involving eggs.
Jerusalem Artichoke soup
Jerusalem artichokes.
You’re deceiving little buggers.
Neither an artichoke
Nor from Jerusalem
Posh popcorn
This week I have some awesome ideas for some easy peasy japaneasy (it’s not japanese, it’s just a saying y’all) nibbles that are simple to make using ingredients that you can have sitting in your pantry. Awesome for those moments friends drop by for a drink and you need to whip up a quick little somethin’ somethin’. I promise you, this week’s recipes will have you looking like Martha Stewart (minus the orange jumpsuit….)
Spinach with sesame dressing (horenso no goma-ae)
I am totally going through a fashion slump right now and it’s bugging me. I have clothes, and I could wear these in cool combinations but I seem to keep going back to the same 3 or 4 outfits to get me through, and I can tell you they are not so cool that you’d find me gracing the pages of The Sartorialist, nope, not happening.
Smoky eggplant dip
I’ve been reading all about David Lebovitz’s trip to Israel and all I want to do now is go to Israel and stuff my belly…have I not mentioned that all my travels are dictated by my stomach? Yeseree…The photos of those fresh vibrant salads, fall-off-the bone slow-roasted meats, creamy dips drizzled with olive oil…oh my…hang on a sec, I just need to wipe the drool off my keyboard.
roast beetroot soup with a persian feta and walnut crouton
I used to really not like yoga at all. I tried it a couple of times years ago but just couldn’t understand what the fuss was all about – for me to feel like I’ve exercised, it needed to be high impact and make me sweat like a drug mule standing in a customs line at the airport.
Tomato and ricotta tartine
So I’ve worked out over the years that people sit in one of two buckets. They either love leftovers or they’re just not that into it. Unless I’ve cooked a dish that I absolutely love or something that actually gets better with time, I sit in the latter bucket.
Zucchini and basil crustless mini quiches
Hands up for those of you on a low-carb diet? I know there’s a stack of you out there; Atkins, Dukan, anyone? Well…strictly speaking this recipe is not diet food and probably wouldn’t be given the tick of approval by Dr Dukan but maybe Mr Atkins would be ok with a few of these baby quiches. It does include cream but when everything else at a party is carb-laden (which obviously makes for killer drinking food) it’s nice to have something that isn’t wrapped in some form of pastry.
