I’ve been eating a lot of vegetarian meals lately, my sister-in-law (a vegetarian), would be proud. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a carnivore through-and-through. I love a good rib eye steak or a slab of melt-in-your mouth pork belly but when you get vegetables at their peak of the season, it’s really hard to go past them.
This recipe was sent to me a couple of days ago courtesy of my lovely sister-in law. The recipe came from her friend Mel whom I’ve never met but apparently makes divine biscuits. The email came with the preamble that these were AMAZING and that anyone who tried them demanded the recipe from her.
For the last eight months or so our Saturdays have been hijacked by house hunting. At first, it was somewhat exciting, the prospect of looking for a new home that we will one day have a family in (and a walk-in closet) has now become a real drag and a slightly anxiety inducing exercise.
Readers, is it Doughnuts or Donuts?
This has always confused me. Not that I write the word donuts/doughnuts that often that it keeps me up at night, but it is something that I ponder over for a minute or so when I see it written somewhere. I mean, I understand why it would be called doughnuts given that these morsels of goodness are made from dough, but then did we just get lazy and shorten it to donuts? is it really that hard to write the extra -ugh? Is it really going to save precious milliseconds?
